Recién salido del cine...película ambientada en Nueva York...Me dice la mujer con la que cohabito cuando en una de las escenas se ve Central Park en toma aérea..."Ya te viste ahí, verdad ?"
Sonrío...sí..ya me ví ahi...pero desde que tenía 12 años...cuando aún soñaba creyendo que los sueños se hacían siempre realidad...
Bueno pues también me ví por ahi de los 18-19 cuando oí por primera vez la rola que anexo en un disco prestado por un compañero de prepa de aquella época- Salvador Esparza - fan de Billy Joel...la oí y me dije - " por mis hu...s que un día voy a ir"..."voy a pasear por Central Park, voy a cruzar el puente de Brooklyn, y subiré por las escaleras cada piso del Empire State "
Claro que esto último lo pensaba cuando tenia 18...ahora me conformaré con subir al avión y aguantar las 4 horas y media de vuelo de Houston a Nueva York.
El próximo dia 13 de Julio parto - sin dolor - como dice mi jefe y espero aterrizar junto con hermanas, domadora, cabecilla loca y cabezota en el aeropuerto de LaGuardia...fué Cabezota el disparador de estas inusitadas vacaciones cuando preguntó porqué no hacíamos algo diferente...el niño interno se alborotó y se acordó de las promesas incumplidas y sin más anunció que a base de tarjetazos o empeñando un riñon, pero que este verano Nueva York me iba a conocer....y yo a élla...
Aún no sé exactamente que plan hemos de seguir...no sé si podré hacer lo que pensé que haría...no sé si me comeré esa pizza en Grimaldi´s, unos tacos en una callejuela del Hell´s Kitchen o si milagrosamente conseguire un boleto para ver a David Letterman...en realidad no me importa....porque a partir de hoy y hasta el 13 de julio anuncio: I'm in a New York state of mind......
